The homeworking and franchising firm said sales were 40% ahead of last year, with average booking values also “well ahead”.

Bookings have continued to grow beyond the traditional peaks sales period, with consultants generating record sales in April and May – a typically quieter period post-Q1.

“Traditionally, travel sales have spiked in the first quarter before dipping in April, but this year NJT sales have increased,” said co-founder Steve Witt.

Witt added: “Peaks is no longer a sprint, it’s an incredible marathon. Our consultants are busy all year round; they’re loving the consistent flow of business.”

He put NJT’s performance down to its growth strategy, which includes signing up more consultants, improving training and onboarding, a concerted focus on cruise and the introduction of its app.

Ami Wood – who became a Not Just Travel consultant in January 2022 as a hobby after previously working in admin – reported £270,000 in bookings in April alone.

“Bookings have been phenomenal since I joined,” she said. “I made £50,000 of bookings in my first week as a consultant and since then, things haven’t stopped.

“January and February were amazing months, but in April and May the bookings just keep flooding in.”
