Designed for travellers seeking an alternative to conventional expedition cruising, Secret Atlas voyages are limited to just 12 guests onboard, offering one-to-one photography tuition, wildlife encounters and expert-led exploration in one of the world's most remote destinations.

Far from crowded locations and large cruise ships, Secret Atlas’s ice-strengthened expedition vessels, Freya and Vikingfjord, can navigate deep into narrow fjords and anchor amongst the sea ice. This access can provide more time and a stable platform for long-exposure photography in some of the Arctic's most dramatic and least-visited environments.

Both voyages depart during the latter half of September, considered one of the best times to experience the Northern Lights in Scoresbysund, and when a full moon is expected offering the rare opportunity to capture icebergs. As the Arctic returns to darkness after summer, guests have an excellent chance of witnessing the aurora in one of the world's most scenic locations, with virtually no light pollution and spectacular mountain backdrops.

Throughout the expedition, guests will also receive hands-on tuition and one-to-one guidance from renowned polar photographers Randy Hanna and Virgil Reglioni.
