Symons will join the business at the end of March from the Canadian rail firm, where he worked as UK and Europe sales specialist building relationships with travel agents and trade partners.
In his new role, he will oversee development of Auria’s homeworking division, supporting the agency’s growing network of self-employed travel partners. He will also lead recruitment and onboarding for new agents joining the business.
Founded by Markus Kendall-Young, Auria Travel operates a retail agency in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, alongside a national network of homeworkers.
Kendall-Young said: "We’re delighted to welcome Daniel to Auria Travel. His experience working with the travel trade and building strong industry relationships will be invaluable as we continue to grow our Travel Partner network.
"Our homeworking division has been expanding rapidly, and Daniel’s role will be key in supporting our partners and ensuring we continue to attract talented travel professionals who want the flexibility to build their own successful businesses."
Symons said he was excited to be joining the agency "at such an exciting stage". "The travel partner model offers a fantastic opportunity for experienced travel professionals and I’m looking forward to supporting partners in growing their businesses while helping expand the network further," he added.
