The move comes on the same day as Julie Kendrick left her role at Spear Travels Group – almost a year after it was acquired by Hays Travel.
Fletcher will take up his new role on 1 June, and work alongside four Hays Travel-owned brands to identify new business opportunities and nurture relationships with brand partners and stakeholders.
He will also work closely with Hays Travel’s marketing, sales, operations, finance, and creative teams.
Jonathon Woodall-Johnston, Hays Travel's Chief Operating Officer, said Hays had been "impressed by his positive approach" since the agency acquired the Midlands miniple, Millington.
"I’m confident he will thrive working alongside colleagues in four of our brands, to develop partnerships and drive performance," he added.
Woodall-Johnston also praised Kendrick for her efforts over the last 12 months since Spear Travels Group was bought by Hays. She had been with Spear Travels for seven years.
"We are very grateful for her support and guidance over the last year," said Woodall-Johnston. "We are naturally sad to see her go and wish her an enjoyable summer with her family.”
Fletcher added: "With my thirty-plus years travel experience and well-established industry contacts, I'm looking forward to overseeing the commercial growth and success of the Brands Division that I will be responsible for."
Hays Travel acquired Spear Travels' 12 branches and homeworking division in June 2025, then all 15 of Polka Dot Travel's branches in the North West, Midlands, and North Wales in October 2025, followed by Millington Travel's 14 branches in the Midlands and The Holiday and Flight Centre in Hamilton, in November of the same year.
