Price and fellow celeb Danielle Lloyd, who is a member of InteleTravel, took to Instagram and Facebook earlier this month to promote Katie Price Travels.
TTG understands Katie Price Travels operates through PlanNet, the US-based firm which recruits on InteleTravel's behalf. However, InteleTravel this week told TTG that while it's aware celebrities bring "large audiences and can be influential", Price is not an InteleTravel advisor.
It comes as InteleTravel agent Laura White, writing for TTG on Tuesday (24 March) in the wake of the Price furore, calls for "the narrative" that InteleTravel agents are "the enemy" to change.
White was responding to criticism from other agents of those who sell travel as "a side hustle" or who view selling travel as an opportunity to earn "easy money while you travel".
Tricia Handley-Hughes, InteleTravel managing director UK and Ireland, said: "InteleTravel is an independent travel business only – recruitment is undertaken by a third party.
"We know celebrities bring the attraction of large audiences and can be influential, especially in this world of social media."
However, Handley-Hughes added: "Following the comments last week, InteleTravel has confirmed that Katie Price is not an InteleTravel advisor."
