Scott will report into Antonio Paradiso, MSC's Vice-President of International Sales, and will focus on enhancing the onboard experience for British and Irish guests while supporting the cruise line's long-term commercial strategy.
Scott brings a decade of cruise industry experience to the role; he was most recently with P&O Cruises, where he held the role of Brand and Marketing Strategy Vice-President. Prior to moving into the cruise sector, he built his career in telecommunications, where he held a number of leadership roles.
Paradiso said Scott's industry knowledge and broad commercial experience made him well suited to the newly created position. "We are delighted that Rob Scott has joined MSC Cruises in this new role, which will see him focusing on giving guests the best experience onboard our ships.
"I've had the pleasure of knowing Rob for many years – he is extremely knowledgeable and has extensive experience across multiple industries. I am looking forward to working with Rob on many exciting projects to support growth in the UK and Ireland."
Scott said he was joining the company at a significant point in its development. "MSC is a truly international brand, and with ten new ships launching over the next ten years it’s a very exciting time to join the business," he said. "I am looking forward to delivering more unique experiences for UK and Ireland guests and bringing my creative energy to ensure that the brand vision is delivered."
Scott's appointment to his new role with MSC comes after the line recently expanded its trade team with two more new roles. Lauren Perks has joined as Trade Support Manager and Laura Wilson as Field Sales and Development Manager.
