How did you celebrate?
Apart from celebrating on the night, I went out for a nice meal and cocktails with my partner, which was lovely. I took the trophy on tour to thank and show some of the agents that voted for me, because without them I wouldn’t have won it in the first place.
Where is your award now?
As it’s silver and trendy it fits in with the decor in our lounge so it now has pride of place on a unit in there, so I can see it every day and so can my visitors.
What has been the reaction for your agent friends?
They have all been amazing and have all said it was really well deserved, which is nice. When I posted my winner’s photo I received more than 200 comments congratulating me, which blew me away, and I’ve had plenty more comments by email and on visits after the event.
What are the qualities that agents look for in a trade business development manager, and how do you ensure you have them?
They look for someone reliable, someone who delivers on what they say they are going to do (the small things make a difference). I think investing years in building great rapports has been the key. My agents have stayed loyal and followed me from company to company over the years. I make sure I’m remembered, and that could be from a sales visit to a presentation or training session. I make sure that everything I deliver is informative, fun and interesting so they remember it and me. I live for my agents and always try to help if they have a problem.
What will top winning TTG’s Rep of the Year award?
I’m so happy doing what I’m doing, and want to stay in this role forever, or until they wheel me out in a box! I will continue to work hard looking after my agents and increasing our mutual business. The only thing that would top winning this would be if I was lucky enough to win it again next year – or a big lottery win. Whichever comes first!
