Now in its third year, TTG is proud to announce that Celebrity Cruises has confirmed its support as headline partner of TTG LGBT for the next two years, with two new additional partners signed up for 2017.
The TTG lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender network was launched in 2015 to embrace and promote diversity and inclusion within the travel industry.
Since its inception, the initiative has held several networking events featuring speakers from outside the industry, as well as two sell-out conferences, and has grown in popularity, attracting support from both LGBT people and allies from across the sector.
Jo Rzymowska, Celebrity Cruises UK & Ireland and Asia-Pacific managing director, said: “Our mantra at Celebrity Cruises is to open up the world, and embracing diversity is a theme we are very proud to champion. The UK travel industry is a better place for growing its LGBT credentials.”
Existing co-partners – Holiday Extras, Abta, Virgin Holidays and the Malta Tourism Authority – have also all re-signed, and TTG LGBT is thrilled to welcome two new partners – Hoseasons and the Israel Government Tourist Office.
Hoseasons managing director Simon Altham said: “Our commitment and vision for diversity and inclusion drives us to create opportunities for all. Many businesses shy away from the issue of diversity in the workplace – either through fear of alienating customers and employees, or through a lack of basic knowledge and understanding.
“Diversity is a key part of creating a productive, inclusive and successful workplace. Getting it right broadens the knowledge of wider communities, and creates a vast talent pool to build an exciting, forward-thinking workforce.”
Sharon Bershadsky, director of the Israel Government Tourist Office in London, added: “Israel celebrates diversity in all its forms, none more so than the LGBT community, which is thriving in Tel Aviv.
“The rainbow flag flies year-round and there is a massive carnival in June to celebrate Pride.”
