TTG has named Opening Doors London (ODL) as its chosen charity partner for the first-ever Travel Pride, taking place on July 3 at The Roof Gardens, Kensington.
ODL is aimed at supporting services specifically for older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the UK, by developing networks and communities for LGBT people aged 50 and over.
Geoff Boyd, ODL ambassador, said the charity helped the senior LGBT generation to “feel part of a network of older LGBT people coming together to help each other keep connected and not isolated”.
The charity also offers training and consultancy for organisations such as care homes, housing associations and hospitals, to help them understand the needs of older LGBT people.
At least 5% of all tickets sold for Travel Pride will go towards ODL.
Travel Pride is a summer party celebrating diversity in the industry. Tickets will include a cocktail, canapes and show hosted by cabaret performer Paul L Martin. The event will follow the TTG LGBT Conference in the day.
