The 12-day trip to the Asian island will be featured alongside new tours to Bhutan and Slovenia, while an old favourite, the Sayan Ring Group Tour, has been reintroduced for next year.
Stef Studley, Asia product manager for Regent Holidays, said Papua New Guinea had been included due to its mix of adventure, cultural experiences and sandy beaches. The destination is also expected to be popular with bird lovers.
Stef said: “Although Regent is probably better known for offering unusual eastern Europe destinations including the ex-Soviet countries and the Balkans, as well as North Korea, we’ve actually been offering [other destinations in] Asia for more than 20 years now.
“I’ve made it my mission to extend the programme beyond Burma into Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo and now Papua New Guinea.
“This year, the programme will focus on escorted tours, as this is a country that really lends itself to travelling in a group.” Prices lead in at £5,495pp and include return flights from Singapore to Port Moresby, internal flights, all transport and the services of a guide.
