Hotels.com for Partners was launched in June 2016, and is an online platform that allows partners such as airlines and travel companies to white-label or co-brand with Hotels.com.
Expedia claims the low-cost airline’s partnership means the carrier’s customers can now access "exclusive rates" at a broader range of hotels. The move means Norwegian also adds 100 million trusted reviews to its flight offering.
Expedia also said the airline will "benefit from the strength of the Hotels.com brand".
The move follows the appointment of Anders Svensson as head of Norwegian Holidays in September last year, after the brand spied an opportunity to “shift gear” in line with the booming low-cost carrier.
Svensson previously developed the airline’s rewards programme, which now numbers five million customers.
Along with access to an extensive selection of hotels, Norwegian customers will also gain access to Expedia Affiliate Network’s discounted package rates when booking a flight and a hotel together on Norwegian’s new co-branded website.
Lars Sande, senior vice-president of sales at Norwegian, said: “We’re giving Norwegian customers a million more reasons to book hotels as our new agreement with Expedia Affiliate Network takes off.
"Customers now have easy access to a wide range of high quality hotels at competitive rates and Norwegian Reward members can also earn CashPoints that saves them money when flying with us in the future. By combining Norwegian flights with accommodation booked through Hotels.com it’s now more affordable than ever to book a holiday with Norwegian.”
The new partnership comes as Norwegian prepares to launch 10 new transatlantic routes from the UK and Ireland to three new destinations in the US this summer, and follows its recent appointment as a preferred airline of the UK government.
