Highlands agency Murrayhas confirmed it will operate a one-week Gran Canaria departure, followed by five consecutive weeks of flights to Tenerife South. Departures are scheduled on Fridays to "maximise appeal" for families travelling during the Easter holidays, which fall across March and April 2027.
The agency said the move built on "strong demand" for Murray's inaugural Gran Canaria charter, which provided direct leisure connectivity from the Scottish highlands without the need for clients to travel via Scotland's main airports in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Owner Scott Murray said the response to the original programme had validated the operator's decision to invest in point-to-point leisure flying from the region.
"Bringing Gran Canaria to Inverness was a huge milestone for us, and the response from local customers showed just how much demand there is for direct sunshine holidays from the Highlands," he said.
"Tenerife is one of the most popular destinations in the Canary Islands, and being able to offer five weeks of direct flights, including the Easter school holidays, is something we know will be incredibly well-received."
Packages are Atol protected and include direct flights, accommodation options across across the island, transfers and hold baggage, with products tailored to families, couples and those looking for a "longer spring sunshine escape".
Dan Mason, airport manager at Inverness, celebrated the "strong demand" for the initial Canary Islands flights and acknowledged the partnership’s trajectory since Murray Travel launched its Lapland day trips last year.
"We’re delighted to continue working with Murray Travel, a valued local company, to help bring even more choice to our community and make direct holiday travel more accessible," Mason added.
Flights and packages for the 2027 Gran Canaria and Tenerife programme will go on sale via Murray Travel branches, its website and selected independent agents.
