Lauren, a trainer for Kuoni, established the Community Interest Company (CIC) following the death of her daughter Bebe in the Southport attack last year.
Bebe’s Hive is a “grief-informed”, creative support project for bereaved children and families. It aims to provide a community for these young people to help them find comfort, express their feelings and begin to heal – “turning love and memory into something beautiful through art, play and imagination”.
It’s tag line is: “Born from loss. Rooted in love. Guided by Bebe.”
Bebe’s Hive aims to support children through creative play and craft sessions and music and drama workshops, with trained therapists available should the child wish to share.
While Bebe’s Hive has already grown rapidly, Lauren has even bigger plans for its future and reach. More than 300 children in the Southport area have expressed an interest in Bebe Hive's support, with no similar grief support available locally.
There are already 14 volunteers involved, including four directors, who have backgrounds in professions such as teaching, therapy and nursing.
“As we grow, we are going to need source external people – that's where we want the bulk of our spend to go, on actually facilitating further support for these children,” explains Lauren.
The CIC has secured premises in central Southport, albeit it needing work, but the idea is for it to provide a constant community for bereaved children and their families for as long as they need it.
Lauren hopes to evolve the initiative into training schools, and to provide more comprehensive support for those living with traumatic grief, as well as grief.
TTG Media chief executive Dan Pearce said: “As a B Corp-certified business, TTG Media takes our fundraising extremely seriously, and every year the TTG team gets together to decide on what our cause will be for the year ahead.
“After hearing all about Bebe's Hive and the reasons behind it, the team decided unanimously that this would be our cause in 2026. Fresh from smashing our £30,000 fundraising target for the MS Society in 2025, we can't wait to get moving with our activities to support Bebe's Hive CIC over the year ahead.”
TTG Media has set up a GoFundMe page to fundraise for Bebe's Hive. Proceeds shared with the CIC towards the end of 2026 following a year's worth of fundraising activities.
