The group is set to launch the complimentary virtual training in the coming weeks, which will focus on social media travel content. It will initially be presented by Wavemaker Hospitality’s team, led by Carl Harris, Sales, Marketing and Promotions Manager, UK and Ireland, and will be developed further with input from a yet-to-be-revealed social media influencer.
“We’ll be launching in the coming weeks, and inviting agents to come and join us on a social media journey," said Harris. "For those who are a little bit intimidated by social media or how to create the basics, we'll be giving them our hints and tips of how we create it, so they can take that back to their teams and start posting confidently.”
Harris was speaking from Rhodes on the TTG Luxury Journey to AMOH, A Luxury Collection Resort, in Rhodes. The trip saw five luxury travel advisors explore Wavemaker Hospitality's brand-new, five-star hotel, which boasts 197 rooms and suites and is located on a secluded peninsula, 10-minutes’ drive from Lindos.
Harris continued: “On every fam trip we've done, you always get the one or two agents who are a little bit scared to load TikTok or put something on Instagram. But once people start, they see great success. So we thought we could really help agents understand what social media is all about and not be scared of it.”
The "social media powered by Wavemaker Hospitality" sessions will be 30-minutes long, and more information will be available soon on the Wavemaker Hospitality online portal.
Agents can already access ready-made social media images and videos from the group’s Social Share platform via the portal. Agents can select the hotel they want to promote and browse a selection of content, with themes including couples, families, a day at the beach, and food and drink.
The content comes with suggested captions and a selection of current trending hashtags. “It gives you that advantage straight away by just using the hashtags we suggest, but of course, agents can customise it to their travel agency's audience, to bring their holiday to life,” Harris added.
“A lot of companies are using Google Drive, or WeTransfer, which for agents is more of a task than a help. So our system is like a virtual shopping basket. Everyone knows how to shop online, and that's what we were trying to create.”
When new footage of AMOH Rhodes was shared on the platform, it was downloaded more than 2,000 times on the first day. “It’s had great traction, so if agents haven’t used it yet, it’s definitely worth having a go,” Harris said.
Agents can currently book their clients a B&B stay at AMOH Rhodes and receive a free upgrade to half-board, valid on bookings made by 3 June 2026 for stays until 30 June 2026, available through all major operators and bed banks.
Wavemaker Hospitality manages four brands across the Mediterranean, including Atlantica Hotels & Resorts, Aphrodite Hills Resort, Mare Resorts and AMOH Rhodes. The group’s luxury focus will be bolstered by the launch of the APHI Resorts brand later this year.
In April, Wavemaker Hospitality expanded its UK trade team to five, after recruiting business development executives Chris Curlett and Jade Spurrell.
