Mark Duguid, vice-president, commercial and product management, said he would meet with the group to develop the content and style of the on how to sell to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender market.
Duguid revealed the operator’s plans to roll out training to all sales staff in August, explaining that the inaugural TTG LGBT Conference had inspired the initiative, launched in September 2015.
Speaking at the launch of the Kuoni Worldwide Trends Report 2017, Duguid said: “We realised there was no go-to resource, so we thought: ‘Why don’t we create it ourselves? It’s never been done before.’
“We are now looking to take our training to the next level and roll it out to our 300 travel experts so they are confident in giving advice to our LGBT customers.”
According to Trends, the operator has seen a 22% rise in bookings for same-sex honeymoons in 2017.
