The hub covers 1,000 destinations in 142 markets. Ground transfer partners include Blacklane, MYCAB Travel, Talixo, TaxiTender, and World Airport Transfer. The solution is available across desktop, mobile and Web Service applications.
The company claims the pre-bookable ground transfer solution will enable agents to boost revenue and enhance customer satisfaction, adding leisure and business travellers value simplicity and productivity, and are "looking for a one-stop shop when it comes to trip planning, shopping and booking".
Ground transfers are in demand as part of the overall opportunity for pre-booked ground transportation, Amadeus adds, citing a recent Phocuswright study that says 54 million travellers globally used a pre-arranged transfer service in 2016. "Offering assistance in making ground transfer arrangements presents a source of new revenues for many travel agents who are eager to tap into this lucrative and fast-growing market," it added.
"For travellers, pre-arranged transfers mean peace of mind, easier budgeting and fewer security headaches by eliminating the need to carry cash to cover ground transfer costs incurred in destination. It also means no longer having to wait in queues at stations or airports or run the gauntlet of rogue operators preying on unwary tourists and business executives."
Clare de Bono, director of product and innovation at Amadeus UK, said: “A key advantage of the Amadeus Transfer Hub is its automatic integration with the rest of the itinerary, meaning travel agents can deliver a superior service while earning commissions from providers who are eager to partner with them. In the near future, we plan to launch more providers to expand the breadth of content as well as introducing even more flexible merchandising options.”
