Delta announced the innovations during the CES 2020 technology show in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
It is the first time a major airline has presented a keynote talk and exhibited at the event.
Announcements included Delta’s expanded partnership with ridesharing operator Lyft, which aims to transform the airline’s Fly Delta app into a comprehensive digital concierge.
Delta has also joined with Misapplied Sciences to pilot its Parallel Reality display experience, which enables customers traversing the airport to see personalised content on a single screen simultaneously.
Meanwhile, Delta in-house start-up, Delta Flight Products, has created a wireless in-flight entertainment system with features such as a “binge button” that allows for uninterrupted viewing of television series and the “recommended for you” feature that provides passengers with curated content based on previous viewing behaviour.
