Kane Pirie has returned to the travel scene with the launch of tour operator Vivid Travel.
Currently its website, at vivid.travel, is live but users are required to leave their email to sign up and be notified of its official launch.
Pirie was the founder of Travel Republic, an online travel agency he launched in 2003, which he then sold to Dubai-based dnata Travel at the end of 2011. He later left the company in 2013.
At the start of this month, Adam Gill, former dnata Travel IT director, joined Vivid Travel as a director, according to records at Companies House.
At the end of June, Gill – who left dnata Travel earlier this year at around the same time as several other key staff, including Gold Medal and Travel 2’s Andy Freeth and Gordon McCreadie, said he believed Travel Republic was the most advanced of the dnata brands.
