The expanded schedule will operate until 29 August before temporarily reducing to 10 weekly flights between 1 September and 24 October. Twice-daily services will return from 25 October for the winter season.
The move marks the latest expansion of Singapre's Gatwick operation, which launched in June 2024 with five weekly services before increasing to daily flights just nine months later.
The additional flights offer greater flexibility for travellers and improved onward connections via Singapore's Changi airport to destinations including Bali, Thailand, New Zealand and seven Australian gateways.
Combined with four daily departures from Heathrow and five weekly flights from Manchester, the expanded Gatwick schedule means Singapore Airlines will operate up to 45 direct flights a week between the UK and Singapore over peak season – more than "any other carrier departing from the region", it claims.
Mohamed Rafi Mar, Singapore Airlines' General Manager UK and Ireland, said: "We're excited to launch our double daily service from Gatwick this summer, offering customers more choice of flights to Singapore and seamless connections from our hub at Changi airport."
