More than 4,00 workers, ranging from security guards and engineers to passenger service teams, had been due to stage the first of three two-day walkouts on Friday and Saturday (26-27) in a dispute over pay.
However, the Unite union confirmed on Wednesday (24 July) the first round of strike action has been suspended to allow workers to vote on a new pay offer from Heathrow.
Unite has declined to reveal details of the offer until members have had a chance to consider and vote on the new pay package.
Strikes scheduled for 6-7 August and 23-24 August are still set to go ahead pending the result of the new ballot.
