He has been charged with unlawfully being airside and unlawfully being on an aircraft after he was spotted on the plane, thought to be a Boeing 747.
A BA spokeswoman declined to comment, saying only: “It is a police matter.” However, Heathrow said it was “working with the police” following an incident on Saturday. An urgent enquiry will be underway as to how the man managed to breach security, presumably in broad daylight.
It is reported that the man fled into the flight deck after he was spotted on the aircraft. It is not known how long he spent onboard, but security staff would not have been able to access the flight deck immediately because of the security lock.
