BA will fly England’s men’s and women’s squads around the world as part of a multi-year deal with the national side, including to the forthcoming rugby world cups.
Its branding will also adorn the national stadium, including the roof, which can be seen from the air with Twickenham on the Heathrow flight path.
The airline will work with England Rugby to create a new stadium app and introduce e-ticketing, while the top floor of Twickenham’s redeveloped East Stand will become the British Airways Rose Garden.
Alex Cruz, BA chairman and chief executive, said, said: “We’re getting behind England Rugby and looking forward to supporting the Men’s and Women’s squads by delivering them ready to win on their travels all over the world.
“Twickenham also sits on the flight path in to Heathrow, so our partnership with the home of England Rugby will be visible to British Airways customers from the skies.”
BA will fly England’s men’s team to the Rugby World Cup in Japan next year and the women’s team to their respective tournament in 2021. A host nation will be announced in November.
