Britons have been able to go to Italy since 3 June without any need to quarantine when they arrive in the destination. Although they currently face having to quarantine for 14 days when they return to the UK with hopes that Italy will soon be included as one of the air bridges between the UK and other countries with similar levels of Covid-19 infections.

ENIT has published all details of the country’s Covid-19 protocols on its website in a bid to “educate and reassure” travellers. The tourist board has also launched its first app, Italia VR, featuring information on art, history, territory, culture, food and wine.

Currently visitors to Italy are required to wear a mask in enclosed spaces including public transport and anywhere else where it’s not possible to socially distance – Italy is applying a one-metre distancing rule in public places including restaurants and hotels.

Flavio Zappacosta, ENIT’s manager for UK and Ireland, said: “We hope to reassure visitors that Italy is ready for tourists and has the correct measures in place to both ensure their health and safety whilst having a fantastic experience in the destination.’”
