Messe Berlin said it was in talks with health authorities at local and national level in Germany and would provide more detailed information “in the evening of 28 February”.
ITB attracts 160,000 visitors; it now expects “lower visitor numbers” but could not give forecasts.
The event is due to take place from 4-8 March. Germany’s health ministry said the risk in the country from the virus “remains low”.
There are no entry bans to Germany for citizens from China, Asia or Italy at the moment. However, ITB visitors from key risk areas, including parts of Italy, will not be admitted to the show.
Organisers also warn of increased waiting time between 9.30 and 10am because of greater security measures.
