Spring Hotels has appointed former Iberostar MICE Manager Tania Mesa as Director of Groups & Events as the Tenerife hotel group continues to expand its international meetings and events offering.
Mesa joins Spring Hotels after almost nine years with Iberostar, where she most recently served as MICE Manager for the Canary Islands and Cape Verde. During her tenure, she led the development of meetings and events business across international markets and helped raise Tenerife's profile as a destination for international meetings and incentive travel.
In her new role, Mesa will lead the strategic development of Spring Hotels' groups and events division, supporting the next phase of growth for the business. The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the group, with Mare Nostrum Resort adding one of the largest event infrastructures in south Tenerife to its portfolio.
Jo Robinson, Chief Sales Officer at Spring Hotels, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tania to Spring Hotels at such an exciting and important moment for our groups and events business. Her extensive international experience, commercial expertise and strong industry relationships make her exceptionally well placed to support our continued growth.
“With the addition of Mare Nostrum Resort and its significant event infrastructure, we see a major opportunity to strengthen Spring Hotels’ appeal for congresses, corporate groups and incentive travel, while building even stronger relationships across our core markets.”
Mesa added: “I am excited to join Spring Hotels at such an important moment for the group. The opportunity to help shape and grow the groups and events offering from this stage is incredibly exciting, particularly with the strength of facilities now available.
“Tenerife has enormous potential as a year-round destination for international meetings and incentive travel, and I look forward to working with the team and our partners to create new opportunities for growth.”
