The Shrewsbury-based business, named the UK and Ireland’s Top Agency during TTG Top 50 2019, secured seven sales last week, bringing in a total of £25,000.
Managing director Claire Moore told TTG she believed the roll-out of the UK’s Covid vaccination programme had helped fuel consumer confidence.
The majority of the business had come from touring and adventure products – including escorted tours in Asia and South America – as well as a Nile river cruise.
“All of the bookings came from clients who had had trips cancelled last year. One was a lady in her 70s who had her Vietnam tour cut short, but wanted to go out again and see the parts she missed,” said Moore.
“They were so happy with how they had been looked after and the service we’d provided that they wanted to book again with us.
“It’s a really nice feeling to hear that and that people believe in us and I hope it gives others that confidence to book.”
Moore, who has furloughed her team amid government restrictions on international leisure travel, said she had been working through a new swathe of cancellation and amendments.
However, despite the challenges, she added that she was looking ahead to “when the sunshine comes again”.
“We’ve just got to keep going and keep our belts tightened. There’s still a lot of tough times ahead, but I’m hoping we’ll have more good feeling coming our way in early February.”
