The Tracker is a weekly survey of the travel trade, designed to capture the changing mood and experiences of travel agents across the UK and Ireland.
Launched in early April, the Tracker is designed to find out what is – and isn’t – selling week-by-week, which destinations consumers are interested in, what the greatest challenges are facing agents, and the contact the trade is having with suppliers.
We’ve surveyed the trade every week since 10 April – 22 times now in total – at an average rate of response each week of just more than 150, with respondents hailing from across the UK and Ireland.
Two of the key metrics the Tracker records each week is the rate of Tracker respondents reporting new enquiries over the past week, and new sales and bookings.
These tend to be the most consistent barometer of what impact external forces such as quarantines and travel restrictions are having on consumer confidence, and subsequently on enquiries, sales and bookings.
For TTG’s return to print this week, we decided to take a look at everything that’s happened over the past 20 weeks to shape the trading environment for travel sellers.
