The group said the hotel on Place de la Concorde will open on July 5, marking “a new chapter in the illustrious history of the Parisian landmark”.
The 18th-century building has been undergoing renovation under Richard Martinet and his architectural practice Affine Design, which has also worked on other Paris hotels such as Four Seasons George V, Hotel de la Tremoille, Peninsula Hotel Paris and the Shangri-La.
Working alongside Martinet are artistic director Aline d’Amman and three Paris-based interior designers – Chahan Minassian, Cyril Vergniol and Tristan Auer.
Two basement levels at the 124-room hotel have been excavated for functional use (kitchen, reservations, back office), but also to install a spa and pool with natural lighting provided by a skylight set in a courtyard.
The hotel is one of 18 managed by Rosewood in 11 countries, and the group has 17 hotels under development. This year will also see the opening of hotels in Puebla (Mexico), Phuket, Phnom Penh, Sanya (China) and Luang Prabang (Laos), in addition to the reopening of Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands.
