Owner AGS Airports has set out its plans to guard against the spread of coronavirus infection as its three airports prepare to resume operations later this month.
Passengers will be asked to bring their own facial coverings, while staff will be provided PPE, including face masks.
Protective screens have been installed in key areas, including check-in and security, and passengers will be asked to observe safe, physical distancing wherever possible.
The group has stressed to travellers in advance of reopening that they should not seek to travel if they are displaying any coronavirus symptoms.
A new video (above) issued by the group highlights some of the enhanced safety and cleaning measures implemented at its airports, with a focus on regular disinfection of contact points.
Additional health measures include:
- Use of electrostatic "fogging" machines, which disinfect surfaces within two minutes
- Treating passenger touchpoints, including security trays, with an antimicrobial product – 99.99% effective against Covid-19 – which lasts for up to 30 days on surfaces
- Self-cleaning stations for trollies have been set-up in baggage halls
- Hand sanitiser dispensers have been installed throughout the terminals
- Floor markers laid to help passengers physically distance where it is possible to do so
- Additional staff training on how to protect customers and colleagues from Covid-19
- Clear new signage in place advising of the measures
